About Me

Shobo is a passionate writer and a thoughtful narrative designer with a keen eye for world-building and character development.

In 2014, he co-created, Kickstarted and published Outcasts of Jupiter, an African futurist graphic novel with his brother, Shof Coker. The book was a critical and commercial success, and it launched Shobo's career as a writer.

In 2019, Shobo was awarded the Creators for Creators Grant, a $30,000 grant created and voted on by leading comic industry professionals. 

Between 2020 and 2023, Shobo worked as a narrative designer for acclaimed video game developer Harebrained Schemes. He contributed to the writing and narrative design of the pulp adventure game The Lamplighters League.

In 2021, he co-created Buckhead, published by Boom! Studios. The comic was praised for its complex characters, suspenseful plot, and world-building.

Shobo returned to his roots in 2022, co-creating New Masters, an expansive African futurist graphic novel set in Lagos, Nigeria. The comic explores themes of power, corruption, and colonization. It has been praised for its detailed character work and thought-provoking story.

Shobo's work is marked by strong characters, intricate plots, and detailed world-building. In his free time, he enjoys reading comics, playing videogames, and researching the mythology, religious concepts, and history of the Yoruba people.
